Mobile Suit Gundam F91: Formula Wars 0122 English Release!

19 July 2011 9:13PM EST - Update by RedComet

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

After more than 5 years, Twilight Translations has finally our English patch for Gundam F91 for the SNES. This is a weird take on the strategy genre and isn’t for everyone, but Gundam fans will love it. The plot covers the period between the Gundam F90 manga and the beginning of the Gundam F91 anime film.

The hacking work is top-notch (if I do say so myself), complimenting SteveMartin’s translation to create an entertaining game for any Gundam fan (and hopefully non-Gundam fans) to enjoy.

Nadia - The Secret of Blue Water Translation Finished

19 July 2011 8:47PM EST - Update by KingMike

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Today I have released a translation patch for Nadia - The Secret of Blue Water for the Genesis/MD. The game is an adventure game, the gameplay revolves around reading the story and solving puzzles.

Translated by Eien Ni Hen, it took me a couple years to work on my Sega Genesis hacking skills (as much as CBS probably doesn’t care) to complete it. This translation uses the console/emu region settings to run in English when set to USA mode. Otherwise it will display the original Japanese text/graphics.

I hope everyone enjoys it.

(Thanks to RHDN for help uploading this, as my site is down at the moment.)

New Spanish fandub romhacked into game: Time Crisis 1

13 July 2011 4:00PM EST - Update by IlDucci

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

One of the first ever seen game romhacked fandubs has been released for the PlayStation One.

The Time Crisis 1 Spanish translation project tried to achieve something different from many other translation projects, by completely dubbing and inserting the game, up to the last sound file. Of course, this translation also does graphics and text, but the main focus was to dub and improve over the poor performances of the original English actors.

Since images will not show how a voice acting mod sounds like, you can see and hear how the project has ended on the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HV5kQKweX2w

For the Frog the Bell Tolls (English) Translation Released

11 July 2011 2:35AM EST - Update by ryanbgstl

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

It’s been a long three years, but Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naru, or For the Frog the Bell Tolls is finally playable in English. This hilarious game has you take on the role of the impetuous but good-natured Prince of Sable. As the Prince, you must save Princess Tiramisu and the dessert and frog themed land of Mille-Feuille from the evil Lord Delarin…and do so before your rival, the valiant Prince Richard, beats you to it.

Gameplay is a mix of platforming action and simple RPG elements. The engine for this game went on to be used for Link’s Awakening, and many elements were borrowed for later Zelda and Nintendo games.

This patch is likely my first and last big gift back to the community whose works I’ve enjoyed so much over the years. It isn’t perfect, but countless hours of revisions and testing have gone into capturing at least a portion of the original’s wit and humor.

Enjoy!

Bloody Warriors Teaser

22 June 2011 1:28PM EST - Update by ded302

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Today I released a teaser patch for Bloody Warriors. The first 3 towns are translated and inserted. You can get the patch at http://www.dedtech.com. To fit the text in, I used the game’s built in MTE compression. Most of the menus are also done. The ROM did not have to be expanded, I just used the free space available to expand stuff on the ingame menus. Also on the site, I have a Java applet setup so you can preview the game without downloading the patch.

Reserve_22//, Super Mario RPG Rom Hack.

16 June 2011 8:38PM EST - Update by Elementalpowerstar

ROM Hacks News

Due to serious lack of Super Mario RPG ROM hacks that display partially unique storylines, Reserve_22// was created solely for that purpose, and to encourage others to start or continue Super Mario RPG ROM hacking with the Lazy Shell editor by giangurgolo & Omega. This hack is to show a little more of what the editor is capable of, utilizing most of the features in Lazy Shell itself.

Final Fantasy VI Advance Color Restoration Patch

16 June 2011 4:26PM EST - Update by Novalia Spirit

ROM Hacks News - RHDN Project Page

To accommodate for the undersized, relatively dark monitor of the Game Boy Advance, a variety of colors in Final Fantasy VI Advance exhibit a higher degree of saturation than that of the earlier versions. Consequently, the graphics generally appear brighter, and certain colors diverge significantly from their original specifications. As such, the purpose of this patch, which supports all three versions, is to restore the colors to their former state.

A more detailed description is contained within the document bundled with the release. In addition, a collection of images designed to provide a basis for comparison can be found at my site.
