Super Mario Kart - The Impala Battles
06 September 2006 10:08PM EST - Update by Ok Impala!
Super Mario Kart - The Impala Battles was (besides several Dutch translations) the first ROM hack released by Ok Impala! in 2002 and is still enjoyed by many Super Mario Kart fans world-wide!
Super Mario Kart - The Impala Battles is a hack of Super Mario Kart in which the four battle tracks have been completely changed.
After release of this hack Ok Impala! teamed up with Stifu to create a complete graphics/level/music/text hack of Super Mario Kart. This, still in progress, hack is named Epic Racers - Impala Kart Courses.
Until the release of Epic Racers - Impala Kart Courses enjoy The Impala Battles, this rather simple Battle Level only hack, for a completely new Battle Challenge with some friends!

Romancing SaGa 1 and SNES Debug and Test mode patches
03 July 2006 7:50AM EST - Update by FH
11 June 2006
Hi there. Life’s been a mess!! Few things: I will not update this site again until RS1 is finished!! It’s been hard finding the time, but I have been working on it and also a SNES demo. I’m gonna go 100% on Rs1 - we’ll see if it or I break first!
I readded the Debug and Test mode section. This is years old, but I thought I’d give these a public home again and also give some light to others wishing to contribute them to me! ^^ The page links are kinda broken to it, but you can get to it from the above link. I’m also gonna look at getting rid of the darn fortune city adverts that are plauging my site now!! :(( May have to pay some cash out the next time around.
Thank you all again to those who emailed: I will complete RS1 if it’s the last thing I do!
See yaz on the other side….

'Metroid:Wart's Invasion' Released
21 May 2006 7:41PM EST - Update by AlexAR
Wart is Back! The evil king has escaped from Super Mario’s unconscious and invaded the Mushroom Kingdom. Wart has also kidnapped Mario and rendered the kingdom defenseless. Princess Peach has sent for Samus in a last-chance hope that she may be able to defeat Wart and save the land. As Samus, you must traverse the many obstacles and dangers that Wart has set up through out the 5 areas as well as collect Mario’s super powers to help you on your journey.
Metroid: Wart’s Invasion is a Metroid(NES) hack. All graphics and palettes have been changed into SMB(1,2,3) style. The entire map layout was created from scratch, every room is original and rarely repeat within the game.
Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes Demo 2 Released
20 May 2006 9:36AM EST - Update by ZeaLitY
The Chrono Trigger: Crimson Echoes project is releasing its second demo! Three chapters of the game are now playable (versus the simple prologue of the last game), featuring new areas, scenes, events, characters and story as the rich world of Crimson Echoes unfolds. Nearly every era is accessible, and a host of other surprises await. I’m really reluctant to reveal much more, as you must experience it for yourself! At a minimum, the demo will last 30-40 minutes at maximum, if you talk to all the NPCs and immerse yourself in the world of the game, it can last up to 3 hours or more. This is truly a new Chrono Trigger adventure if you’d like to follow the team on another mission through time, jack in and download the patch! The instructions for playing are in the Readme. The demo is the relevant link on this news post. Also, please give us feedback here.
Staff note:Pursuant to ROMHacking dot net’s policy of only including completed hacks in our database, we will not be hosting this hack here at this current time. This news was just too good to pass up, so up on the front page it goes.

Metroid Redesign is released!
07 May 2006 4:11PM EST - Update by Jigglysaint
(The following news was submitted by Jigglysaint with authorization from Drewseph, the author of this hack)
After 2 full years in the making, and several Restarts on the project, it has finally been completed. Click one of the download options, READ the READ ME, and apply the patch.
This ia Version 1.0 of the hack…. so… Please PM me ANY discovered bugs (places where you get stuck perminently, crahses, garble)
(Added by Jigglysaint) Everything has been changed. Zebes is now much larger than before, and not a single room is recognizable. On top of that, there are other changes as well the author wants you to experence. It\’s a tough game, but not impossible.
thank you all for playing!
- **NOTE*** this patch is for [JU] versions of the rom only, also ZSNES1.4x DOES NOT work with my hack because of errors in the program…. all future versions of ZSNES will work.
Addition by Dragonsbrethren: You can also get both patches in a single zipfile in our database: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/131/
30 April 2006 12:44PM EST - Update by D
Last month it was pointed out to me that posters on RPGONE’s forums thought the group should retranslate Lufia & the Fortress of Doom, also known as Estpolis Biography, based on the Japanese to English censorship changes I released on GameFAQs.
I’ve always considered the translation very good aside from some forced NOA censorship and a few creative names–which were often better than the Japanese originals. However, since some people think it’s so bad, I threw together a patch to apply my FAQs changes to the game.
This patch changes all the following:
- Character Names: Dios, Erin and Arty are back to normal.
- Monster Names: Gardios and too many others to count.
- Censorship: Bars now sell booze instead of cider. Church is run by a priest instead of a grey-haired shemale. Bunny girls kiss the hero on the second floor of Forfeit Isle. The dress is once again a One-Piece swimsuit. All references to death restored in place of gloom. Shop sells Bunny Ears and Bunny Suits.
- Item Names: Brone to Bronze. Tan to Leather. Carbo to Holy. Might to Ancient. Stuffed Monkey. Rum, Vodka, Gin, Moonshine and Whiskey sold in stores. Lots more.
- Magic Names: All magic names restored to their original, unintelligible syllables. Have fun figuring out what does what. It’s Phantasy Star IV again!
- Dialogue: Corrected the Gades in Sheran reference when Lufia first sees Gades so it is no longer Tarzan-speak.
I did not change Forfeit Island to Pawning Place or Sinistrals into \”Four Mad Gods\” because the English version names sound a million times better. I also did not change Platina and Carbis back to Shaia Labs 1&3 because those would have been too big a hassle.
The patch has been moderately playtested. Please report any bugs that pop up and I’ll fix them. There is a slight chance of some spells making the game lock, but I think I fixed all of these.
Staff Note: As always, you can find the patched mirrored here. The archive includes a standard IPS patch as well as a NINJA format patch for those of you who do not like dealing with the problems caused by patching a headerless or interleaved rom.
