ROM Hacks News
This is a fairly useless hack - it simply makes the copier ROM playable on an emulator.
I did it for the nostalgia - the SNES unit my brother bought had a Super UFO. Needless to say, many summer nights were spent loading up games from this copier’s menu.
What I did was basically NOP out instructions that were causing infinite loops, these were most likely disk access checks. I was also having trouble getting the sound to work until I discovered a routine that for some reason was copying the sound init code to non-existent memory (probably on-board custom RAM).

Konami made two games based on the American movie, King Kong Lives, released as King Kong 2 in Japan.
The first one, “KING KONG 2: ikari no MEGATON PUNCH” for the Famicom, is what DvD Translations, has just translated. It’s an action game.
The second one, “KING KONG 2: yomigaeru densetsu”, released for the MSX has been translated for a while now. It is an action RPG.
This translation started out as simply a title screen graphics hack, but then we discovered 2 things:
- it was based on an American movie called King Kong Lives (so we had to change the title screen more than we were originally going to)
- there WAS some japanese text in the ROM. We determined that it was special text that only came up only during the ending credits if you hold the correct buttons down. So now, it needed to be translated for a complete patch.
This patch translates the title screen and the 24 different ending phrases.

A beta release of the English patch for the PSP game Monster Hunter 2nd G Portable has been released! Its about 90% complete. As far as I have tested, the non translated stuff is mostly unimportant dialog. Untranslated items include the quest name when completed, some felyne companion stuff, and some felyne kitchen ( all the important stuff is translated). Its got one or two seemingly unimportant bugs in the form of random dialog popping up that didn’t affect anything else as far as I could tell. Save games from MHF2 can be converted using either laboko or save-game deemer. Both processes are kinda long and can be found by using Google. Great job team HGG!

As mentioned before, in the DigitalZero Domain projects thread at the RHDN Message Board, there is some bad news regarding my main project: Kururin Paradise for the Gameboy Advance has been dropped.
I won’t be able to finish up all the work that remains by myself, and certainly not to the quality I’d like to see it done - the quality of a commercial release, that it. However, as I said before, I will graciously hand out all the work that was done on the game up to this point to someone with the skills to finish it.
If anyone with more hacking experience - especially with the GBA -, a fluent translator, capable editor and time on his hands would like to take this project over, please contact me.
On a different subject: As part of an experiment of sorts, I’ve put up a “translation wiki”, so far used for Naruto Shippuuden: Dairansen! Kage Bunshin Emaki for the Nintendo DS. I’m still considering the possibility of taking it on as an actual project; however, a custom script dumper has been written (called HeadSplitter, which is available right here on RHDN), most of the other stuff inside the game is rather straight-forward to handle, even by a single person alone, and thus this game is a very likely project candidate.
So, in case anyone with Japanese knowledge is interested in the game and creating a translation of it, hit the Wiki, check out the script dump and start translating!

Life still stirs over at TransCorp! Nightcrawler has released a fairly significant bug fix/improvement patch for Dual Orb 2! Over 25 items were addressed ranging from minor to fairly significant. Several items were polished up such as the magic descriptions pictured above, which are now relocated on screen.
One other thing of note is that the infamous Yes/No issue on copiers has been corrected. You can now strike Dual Orb 2 off your list of translations exemplifying emulator versus copier/SNES differences.
Head on over to TransCorp for further details!

Not much else to say, really. It’s been a long road but we’re finally here, and from my *own* experience playing the game today, the wait was damn well worth it. I hope that you all feel the same way!
The new version includes…
- 560 kilobytes of English script: Twice the size of the original translation!
- Main dialogue, menu, and battle fonts are now fully proportional!
- Each chapter now has its own unique font - even the Japanese version can’t say this! Live-A-Live now sports a total of ten different fonts.
- Kung Fu names are now Chinese, not Japanese!
- Items, techniques, and equipment names expanded dramatically due to new fonts!
Staff Note: The translation patch can also be downloaded locally from RHDN.

ROM Hacks News
A full scale hack of Final Fantasy, nothing remains but the core programming routines. It features all new graphics, music, levels, enemies, text, statistics and more. Think of it as a “Total Conversion” for the NES.
Up to this point, there were two versions of the game: v1.26 and Easy Type. Both lines are now merged as of this version, which should be the absolute last release barring any earthshattering problems (v1.30 has been thoroughly tested, so this should not be an issue, we hope).
SRAM files from either v1.26 or Easy Type should function properly with v1.30, but save states may be broken due to the animated water routines.

After my Italian translation of this game I have now released a bug fix of the English translation from DEJAP. I’ve fixed many grammar errors, pointers, and text not translated from Japanese thanks to the forum right here on ROMhacking.net. I’ve also restored the quest in the first Ice Pyramid so try it.
