Spelling correction of the word "Assohles", I fixed the typo and changed it to "Assholes". I also capitalized the words "French", and "English" in the description section. I got the following errors when I attempted to submit my corrections so I had to download, resize, and upload/change the images as well: 1. Castlevania: Rondo of Blood Bleeds It's Way into English.

18 June 2012 4:56PM EST - Update by Burnt Lasagna

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

After many years of leaving the Castlevania: Rondo of Blood English Translation Patch abandoned I can happily say that this patch has reached it’s much needed v1.0 status! However the credits have not made it into this release of the patch (if ever) so in order to compensate for this inconvenience we have included the translation for the credits in the readme.

To make clear, this patch will translate the TurboGrafx-CD version of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood into English. Everything will be translated; even the voiced dialogue will be replaced with the official Konami English dub from Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles (PSP). However miscellaneous grunts will retain their original Japanese.

But enough talk! Download the patch and see for your self!

Pokemon Trading Card Game 2: Full English Translation

16 June 2012 12:42AM EST - Update by Artemis251

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

After quite a few people have tried and stopped mid-way, the sequel to the Pokemon Trading Card Game for Game Boy Color is finally completely translated! Following the events of the last game, you’ll find new adversaries, new cards, and many more strategies to play with while duelling others in the famous Pokemon collectable card game. (And the best part is, you don’t need to pay for the cards!)

A big shoutout goes to Jazz, who provided a basis to insert English lettering in small enough tiles to fit the text in nicely, as the last game did.

Though there are many other patches floating around with partial translations, this one will require a clean Japanese ROM. I hope you all enjoy it!

Jesus 3 Days Later Edition Released

08 June 2012 6:07AM EST - Update by Pennywise

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Some five years after Niahak released his patch for Jesus, we present a brand new patch and experience. For those who played the original release, we recommend that you give this patch a spin as it is an entirely different experience from the first patch. Nothing short of excellence. Thanks to sin_batsu for the sweet title screen and rveach for the invaluable compression assistance.

Some housekeeping items:

We have scanned the Japanese manual and was hoping someone could photoshop in a translation so we could release an English manual sometime in the future.

Also, it would be nice if someone proficient in Java or some other high-level language that’s cross-platform could port ROM Expander Pro so that users outside of Windows don’t have difficulty in applying our patch. Program source is publicly available to those interested in helping.

Standard Daisenryaku: Lost Victory v0.60 Patch released

18 May 2012 10:50PM EST - Update by Nebelwurfer

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

This is a patch for the Playstation 2 WW2 turn based strategy game. It translates all the scenarios in the Victory Path (Marita, Barbarossa, Typhoon, Blau, and Tunisia campaigns) This now allows you to successfully complete the game in early 1943.

About half the scenarios remain to be translated. These are all in the Defeat Path. Once you enter the defeat path, the final outcome will always be a last ditch defense of Berlin in 1945. One consolation of playing these no win scenarios is that this is the only way to obtain the really powerful late war German weapons.

Time for something a little different

18 May 2012 10:49PM EST - Update by Pennywise

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

Today I have released a complete translation patch for the Sharp X68000 doujin game Lunatic Fantasy. Most doujin games of the era usually featured some kind of adult content, but this game is the exception. However, there are very strong lesbian themes and undertones, but never makes itself inappropriate. So this game is not for everyone, but if you like adventure games, visual novels and obscure Japanese games, this translation might be for you. Thanks to Eien ni Hen for producing an excellent script and Hemiasinus for the tools and taking care of the more complicated stuff.

Akira!

29 April 2012 9:10AM EST - Update by danke

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

You can finally play the iconic movie on your NES!

Akira is a point-and-click text adventure following the plot of the movie (not the manga), and is sure to give even the greatest fans quite the challenge.

This project was many years in the making and was a combined effort of danke, Pennywise, and Niahak with some early aid from RedComet. The game was translated rather quickly, but, because it was a text adventure, space immediately became an issue. After a line hack and hijacking the native DTE, space was still a major issue. It was decided that the ROM needed to be expanded and the pointer system reworked. After that headache, the text was inserted without issues and with minimal editing for space. You can enjoy the game as it was meant to be.

The game itself is extremely challenging if you haven’t watched the movie. There are also some ’shooting’ mini-games that are enough to make you swear, so saving often is highly recommended.

To make use of the patch, you need to run the ROM through ROM Expander Pro, which is included in the zip file. All instructions can be found in the readme.

Due to the nature of the game and the hundreds of possible choices and responses, no amount of beta-testing could have checked over everything. As far as we know, the game is 100% bug-free, but there may be a typo or two. If you spot anything, feel free to report it in the forum post linked with this article.

Nakayoshi n' Me English Translation Released

23 April 2012 9:01PM EST - Update by Hiryuu

Translations News - RHDN Project Page

This is a complete translation of a cute little Famicom RPG based on Sailor Moon and other shoujo manga that were published in Nakayoshi Magazine in the early 90s (Goldfish Warning!, Pocket Park, MinMin!, Taiyou ni Smash and Kurumi and the Seven Dwarfs). If you’re looking for a hardcore, complex old-school RPG, look elsewhere. If you’re looking for a simple, light-hearted, cutesy RPG, then this may be up your alley. This game has an interesting slot-machine mechanic in its battles, and is overly simplified (there are no experience points, for example), but otherwise plays like other RPGs of the time.

Two versions of the patch exist, one with the Sailor Moon characters adopting the same names as the DiC dub of the anime that aired on Cartoon Network (Main character is named Serena, etc.), and the other with names more accurate to the original Japanese Manga (Main character is named Usagi, etc.). Both versions of the patch are included in the zip.
