Myria

English

Description:

Primary Hacker for Final Fantasy V. Worked with SoM2Freak and then harmony7 separately on the English translation of FF V.

On 17 October 1997, Myria and crew were forced to release “v0.96″, the first public version of FF5’s fan translation as a person or number of persons found an earlier version of their translation and showed it on an old Geocities website on October 2017 and claimed it as their own. More polishing work was done and, finally, in June of 1998, they released the “official” version of their Final Fantasy 5 patch.

After Final Fantasy 5, Myria got into PS1 hacking, reverse-engineering old RPGs so she could write her own cheat codes, like a hack for Final Fantasy 7 that allowed players to walk through walls. The whole process helped her launch a career in the video game industry.

She went by the handle of ‘Barubary‘ during the 1990’s (Not related to another member’s profile with the same handle). Both names are references to Breath of Fire.
