Good news is upon us! RHDN has been gifted with an upgrade bringing new sections, features, and goodies!

We have opened a new Homebrew section dedicated to archiving all your homebrew games, tech demos, and hardware tests. Nowhere else on the net can bring together a central repository for all types of homebrew, across all platforms, like RHDN can! Add your favorite homebrew (if available for distribution) or share your own creations with all! Emulator authors and ROM hackers alike will benefit!

Making submissions to RHDN just got easier! We have launched The Scratchpad, our own file hosting service for exclusive use on RHDN submissions. No longer do you need dropbox, imageshack, or other hosting service to submit files if you don't have web space of your own. Now, go make those submissions you've been holding back on!

We've also added submission history pages to each entry, including removed items! No longer do you need to question what happened to certain entries. In case that isn't enough, we also have an advanced submission search so you can stay up to date with all that has been changing at RHDN.

The full list includes:

Lastly, as a reminder to those who may not know, the site is accepting materials in all sections for:
  • NDS
  • PSP
  • Wii
  • Xbox 360
  • PS3

Since ps4 and xbox one were released I am hoping that we get a few ps3 and xbox 360 translations, utilities, and document by the next couple of years.

Excellent.

I see you now have a homebrew section, but the categories are very narrow, seems to be intended for full games and hardware tests, but nothing for non-game applications or emulators.

I don't know if that was the intention, but keeping the homebrew section very specialized allows for it to be present. The site has never been homebrew-centric, but this allows things that fall within a very defined niche to be hosted, while not allowing the site to become overrun with things outside of its scope.

At least that's how I see it, assuming this was a conscious choice.

I don't like the way the "Enhanced image browsing" zooms up the screenshots. They end up looking blurry and... just awful. Other than that, it's nice to see homebrews and seventh generation consoles hacks finally being accepted.

No problem. Just click the image from the viewer for the native resolution version. Best of both worlds. ;)

Dwedit, Emulators aren't the kind of homebrew people wanted to see here.

Mauron, public maintenance access should be fixed now. :)

Thank you for the update, it is much appreciated!

Public Maintenance works for me, however the Advanced Submission Search returns the "Your login was successful, however you do not have permission to access this area!" error.

EDIT

Also for homebrew, here are some of the fun games I have tried out.

BlockOut II
Rockman 7 Famicom
Rockman 8 Famicom
Sonic After the Sequel
Sonic Before the Sequel
Sonic Before the Sequel Aftermath
Triple Triad Gold - I loved Final Fantasy VIII's card game so this was a treat

This is a good change. Will unify the retro consoles community.

Good leadership, Nightcrawler!

There's a "Sticky News" item to call attention to a news item from last week?

It was stickied when it came out, I think.

I don't remember it being red. So stickied just means it'll show at the top of the news for a while, right?

I've never seen a "Stickied" news item on a home page. I'm used to "News" being strictly chronological.

Oh! You mean on the main page. I don't check the main page often, I mostly use the forum or go directly to the Translations, ROM Hacks, etc sections. Yeah, we've had that capability for years as well.
