This is a translation patch for the Mega Drive game Langrisser II. It is the sequel to Langrisser (known as Warsong in the USA) by Masaya. As usual, it is a “dual-language” patch, meaning that it is capable of displaying the original Japanese script in addition to the English translation, depending on the country code of your machine.

It is loosely based on the older Hiryuu Honyaku / Warui Toransu translation. A few improvements to their original work were made by D et al. before he passed it off to M.I.J.E.T. Aside from the script and a few graphics, almost nothing was taken from the old release. The hacking was completely redone from scratch and is far superior. The script was almost entirely rewritten, edited, and type-set, with quite a bit of it retranslated. If you shied away from the older release, you may find that this version meets your standards.

Language warning! It's fairly mild, there's just a lot of it.

It's worth mentioning that this is most likely M.I.J.E.T.'s last translation for a text-heavy game.

I'm very much impressed by this, as I am by any of M.I.J.E.T's work. But this one hits home, because I love Langrisser.

Great job! ^.^

yeah, i thought i heard they never wanted to do anything of the rpg persuasion altogether. ah well, another understandable genesis game never hurts.

Further proof that Langrisser kills fan translation careers.

Awesome work, though! A Langrisser game in only four months, truly impressive.

For those who have played DL, even on light path, this is still highly worth checking out. The games are totally different after scenario 3 or so. This one is also maddeningly more difficult. Expect to lose the very first scenario. Multiple times.

As for the previous L2 patches, well ... read M.I.J.E.T.'s readme file. He puts it better than I ever could.

I'd say it's more of something that was built from that period where he was releasing patches at a very fast rate. One of those patches, YYH, he didn't enjoy that one and he had to replace a lot of sprites.

Really? I'm a huge DL fan, but by no means a Langrisser expert, and I played through the first scenario twice (once on my PC, once on my PSP), and whooped Bardo's ass both times. >.>

Translation groups usually tend to focus on genres, series, or systems, they're most interested in.

I understand here. There aren't much for major untranslated RPGs on the favorite console of M.I.J.E.T.

Little sad to hear that. I was secretly hoping they'd take up work on Rent-A-Hero as one of their next projects. Langrisser is great and all, but I think Rent-A-Hero is a little more enjoyable.
