Secret of Mana 2 Titlescreen Patch

Hack of Seiken Densetsu 3

Description:

Seiken Densetsu 3 is often referred to as Secret of Mana 2, even if the name is not technically correct. The only version of the game with a “Secret of Mana 2″ titlescreen was in German; this patch uses the image from that translation.

Also included in the archive are patches to change the title back to Seiken Densetsu 3 (Japanese or English, your choice) if you so desire. It should be noted this hack should work with any version of SD3, provided the ROM has a header.

Note: This hack does not change any text referring to the game’s title nor does it change the logo used during the credits.

Perfect as Is

I never commented on this hack. I have used it since it came out. I always prefer my English games to have English titles, particularly if there are other games in the series with translated titles. This small hack does just that.

To the review below, I think that Neill Corelett’s game can be known as Seiken Densetsu 3/Secret of Mana 2 (the names he originally used for his translation), while the new translation can be “Trials of Mana”. No need to change something that’s worked just fine for 20 years.
