A great hack for an underrated game

Reviewed By: Red Soul on 14 Jul 2020

While Eternal Champions was never as tightly knit as Street Fighter or as gratuitously violent as Mortal Kombat to replace either of these games in the fans’ hearts, it was still an interesting game even back then, with large character sprites and great music, while suffering a bit on the gameplay department.

The game does feel somewhat clunky and it’s not easy getting used to if the player is more accustomed to mainstream fighting games, but the AI doesn’t care; it will mercilessly bash the player no matter what, hindering enjoyment and making for a much steeper learning curve than truly necessary.

This patch addresses this by making difficulty levels much more manageable. If players want hard core, by all means, bump the difficulty up in options, have a blast, really; normal, though should does what it says, and this patch delivers this much needed rebalancing.
