Idol Hakkenden is an adventure game for the Nintendo Entertainment System.
A special translation of Idol Hakkenden for the Famicom, created by Polinym of the Woolsey Fan Company (W.F.C). The first translation issued by the W.F.C. This translation aims to be a localization of the game that imitates what an official English release might have looked like if it was released during the era of the NES.
The translation’s writing is not necessarily 100% accurate to the original Japanese in the attempt at not reading like subtitles, but rather as how it would be if it was an American game first.
Localization in this hack includes changing Japanese names, places, items, etc. to versions more appealing to American audiences. It also includes censorship of swearing, removal of reference to suicide, and one instance of blood.
Due to technical issues of not having enough space in the text blocks, the opening/ending song lyrics could not be localized and are replaced with “Lalala”. Also, the lyrics to the “mini-songs” within the game do not match up the notes in the music.
