Hack of Super Metroid

This is a complete Super Metroid hack that will hopefully be fun to play and have a few surprises. In the beginning many areas are similar to the original, but as this project progressed as a Super Metroid builder the quality of the ROM-hack got better and better. The map is about the same size as the original (same amount of rooms). Difficulty is set just a little higher so it’s audience is more towards casual players with some harder parts for 100%.

A Must Play for the more casual crowd

Reviewed By: TheCrystalFlasher on 26 Sep 2016

Before playing this mod I didn’t know what to expect. The description sounds modest and amateurish, and I had doubts about the quality and extensiveness of the level redesign. After playing it, I am very satisfied to have explored through a very fresh - though at a high level structurally reminiscent of the original - map and a clever change in item progression.

Strongest Pro: Clever and enjoyable item progression order. Not to spoil too much, but the order you get items is drastically different from the original game, and this creates a feeling of longing for the powers you would normally get earlier, which becomes immensely satisfying when you do acquire them later.

Strongest Con: Like the description says, there are as many rooms as are in the original. So my only complaint is that the game didn’t last forever. I could see somewhere between a 25%-50% increase in rooms, especially in lower Norfair, being the ideal.
